Art Making/Material Exploration
I'm usually very used to creating color wheels and value scales in my drawing and painting classes. The value scale was pretty standard, but the color combinations on the wheel were very different from what I am used to. In my oil painting classes we stick to Red, Yellow, and Blue as the Primary colors, and Orange, Green, and Purple as the secondary colors. It is interesting to see another interpretation of the color wheel. I didn't have the money for acrylic paints so I used my pastels to combine the colors and I think I got pretty much the safe effect. In painting I will probably continue to use the traditional color wheel, but I may switch over to this method for pastels. Graphite pencil is what I'm the most comfortable with, but I enjoyed working with colors for a change. I realized there's more than one way to make very vibrant colors. I think the videos were very helpful for someone who hasn't used these color combinations before. The colors were far more vibrant in real life than the picture my phone took.
