Art Making: Material Exploration / Hand drawing
Using my hand as a subject for drawing was like a throwback to high school. We used to do many assignments involving hands as the subject. I chose pencil because I personally prefer to use graphite because charcoal doesn't hold up well over time. I had far less control drawing with my non-dominant hand when drawing. It felt shakey and my lines were less precise. I find my drawing I did with my dominant hand to be a much stronger study than my non dominant hand. I had more freedom to focus on detail when using a hand that works better. I would consider using my non dominant hand if I were to do a drawing intended to look like it were done by a child.
